The pharaoh that I have chosen is Ramesses II.
Ramesses II was born in 1301 BC, his parent’s names were was Queen Tuya and Seti. Ramesses had 103 children. He also had nine wives He was appointed Prince Regent by his father, we believe Ramesses took the throne in his yearly twenties and ruled Egypt from 1297 BC to 1213 BC, that was about 66 or 67 years.

Early in the life of Ramesses he ventured on several campaigns to return previously held territories back in Nubian hands, also to secure Egypt’s borders. In his second year Ramesses II defeated Sherden sea pirates who were attacking along Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. His first campaign seems to have taken place in his fourth year. In the fourth year of his power he captured Hittite vassal state in his campaign in Syria. The battle of Kadesh was fought in his fifth royal year it fought in Syria rising Hittite. In the third campaign Syria fell in Hittite’s hands. In the seventh year of his control Ramesses II returned to Syria once again. During his campaign he split the army into two forces, one was led by his son. During the fourth and final campaign Ramesses extended his military successes in his eighth and ninth year. Hittite’s king’ Mursilli III fled to Egypt his country’s enemy and they made a peace treaty.

After ruling Egypt for 30 years Ramesses joined a selected group of only a few of Egypt’s longest-lived kings. By tradition in his 30th year of ruling he celebrated a jubilee called the sed festival. Only half way through what would 66 years of ruling Ramesses has already outdone the few greatest kings. He had brought peace, maintained Egyptians borders, and built great and many monuments across the empire. His country was more powerful than it had been nearly a century ago.
Nine more pharoahs had taken the name Ramesses in his honor.Few of those nine almost achicved what he had done as the king. Most of his subjects had been born during his ruling. They thought that the world would end without him.Less than 150 years after he died the Egyptain empire fell and the New Kingdom ended.

There was a temple complex built by Ramesses II between the Quran and the desert has been known as the Ramesseum since the 19th century. Nefertari is extremely important because of the great painting decoration. By the time of Ramesses death he was suffering severe dental problems. When he finally died he was about 90 years old. He have out lived his wives and children and left great memorials all around Egypt and especially his beloved Queen. Ramesses II were buried in a tomb in the valley of kings. His mummy was placed in the Cairo’s Egyptian Museum.

The reason I chose King Ramesses is because he is a very important and interesting pharaoh.

Ashley you did a good job on your report. You gave a great description of Ramses and added some good images. Next time work on a better introduction and conclusion and you should receive a top grade.
